Voluntary Car Service
The team of voluntary drivers make over 700 trips every year to hospital and GP surgery appointments.
If a patient requires this service they should discuss it with the GP Surgery and the surgery will contact the Voluntary Car Service co-ordinator who will arrange the transport. The volunteer driver will then ring the patient to confirm the arrangements.
A charge for the round trip is made for the service to cover running costs of the vehicle. No charge is made for the driver. The schedule of fixed rate charges are shown on the Fare Structure page.
More drivers are always needed so if you are able to help please contact us.
Co-ordinator: Mrs Val Harvey
We rely on donations and fund-raising activities by well-wishers. If you would like to help, please contact us.
