we share some facts about our recent acheivements from the agm
- Our Nursing Team provides palliative care for around 40 patients a year. In 2023 the Nursing Team made approximately 135 visits working over 280 hours. To access the support our Nursing Team can provide, a referral must be made from a GP, District Nurse or Hospice Nurse.
- Our Patient Transport Service carried out 1,092 drives in 2023 a record number and a huge achievement for our team of volunteer drivers. We have just over 25 drivers committed to helping people get to their medical appointments.
- Our Lechlade Charity Shop is vital to our fundraising. We are open Tuesday to Saturday 10-4pm. We sell a huge range of clothing, books, toys, household items, vinyl and crafting supplies. All of our stock is kindly donated. Most of what we sell is Gift Aided, allowing us to claim additional funds at no extra cost to the donors. We have a contract with a recycling company that diverts items away from landfill and rehomes them globally.
- The League of Friends changed its name in 2019 to the Friends of Fairford and Lechlade Communities. This was to better reflect our focus of health and social care in the wider community.
- We have supported the installation and met the ongoing costs of many of the community defibrillators.
- We donate £20,000 each year to Prospect Hospice in Wroughton which provides people in our community more specialist care, and access to their services and facilities. They also provide training and support to our Nursing Team.
